This week's challenge is to share a pic or an observation of a bird species that you're seeing for the first time this year. Birders abbreviate these observations as FOY- First of Year. Maybe it's a newly arrived species, or maybe you're just getting to good habitat for one of your favorites. Some of our newly arrived species include: Western Tanager, Warbling Vireo, Black-chinned Hummingbird, Bobolink, Black-headed Grosbeak, and Swainson's Thrush. Let us all know what you're seeing by posting a comment or picture within this event on our Facebook Page!
As usual, feel free to continue doing any one of our earlier challenges.
